Appopolis
A white-haired swordsman with a red scarf and a glowing blue blade fights a line of goblins and a skull-masked ogre on a mossy stone bridge. A small winged spirit floats beside him; a waterfall, a rune gate and a far castle stand behind.

Ruins of Tomorrow

One road. You keep walking, the world keeps coming, and everything you earn comes back with you.

What it is

A road, not an arena A run is fifteen stretches of road walked end to end. Something big waits halfway, something bigger waits at the end, and there is one quiet place to catch your breath before it.
Your hands are for the hard part Your character swings on their own. What you actually do is read the tell, get out of the way, and spend your one ability on the moment that deserves it.
Losing still pays Every run leaves you with something to spend — a better weapon, thicker armour, one more point of something. The road does not get easier. You do.

No energy timers. No ad that stops the game to ask you for thirty seconds. It is a game you pick up, not a game that picks at you.

What it looks like right now

A capture of the game running: the swordsman runs left to right along a ruined stone viaduct under a bright sky, past an ivy-covered arch and a barrel, with a health bar, a gold counter and two ability buttons on screen.
A real capture of the current build — health, gold, the stage counter and the two buttons that matter. The art is in; the enemies on this stretch are not yet, which is what step four is for.

From the drawing board

A character sheet: the swordsman in turnaround, head details, expressions, run and attack frames, and the blue sword effects. The character, and what he does
A bestiary sheet: a regular monster, a stone sentinel miniboss and a pale sorcerer boss, each with animation frames and attack tells. What is waiting on the road
A level asset sheet: mossy stone arches, ruined walls, columns and ivy pieces that the road is built from. The pieces the road is built from

Working sheets, not marketing. They are here because a page about something half-built should show the half.

Built for iPhone and Android. There is no date, and there will not be one until it is worth playing — this is the honest state of it, updated as it moves.

Ruins of Tomorrow is a working title. The game is being made by the same one person who makes the apps, which is why it is taking a while and why it will be finished.
